Hello, I am sooo furious! I read you great article. Deer Ridge gets special assessment for $3,000.00+ Then another $3,000.00+ for Cobbly Nob Special assessment. Then of course taxes, monthly HOA fees, agent booking fees, electric, charge card fee,(if guest books using charge card)sheets $100.00, cleaning fireplace? forgot $.. and lots more!
We all were forced to replace the hot water tanks last year, even if they were fine.
I wish I could rent the condos to locals. I am losing money and keep pulling out of my retirement fund. I am a senior citizen. Deer Ridge is lovely, but I think many shady things are going on in there.
Ever month there is some crap added on. I was never told about these additional fees. Only HOA and annual taxes!
So why was I not informed about Cobbly Nob’s involvement in all this, at the time of closing. Shouldn’t that be part of the disclosure? There are many for sale now at Deer Ridge. I am not sure what to do…
By the way, that steep ride, about the last 1/2 – 3/4 mile going down Deer Ridge is treacherous! I was so scared. Going up, you can kind of hug the mountain, but can’t see what’s coming. Cobbly Nob has no lights also. No railings on the side in many areas, where there is just a steep drop. You go off that and you are done! I was told city won’t do anything because it’s privately owned by Cobbly Nob. Are they waiting for someone to get killed to take action, which is sadly usually the case. Thank you for posting this. Very informative, but I don’t know what to do.
Be safe,
Jeannie
I would like to interview you and share our plight with our hoa.
