It is a shame when mother nature takes one of our trees. It is unspeakable when the Joe Thomas-ordered trimming is done wrong and is destroying so many of our beautiful trees.

I noticed when I last visited the property how many of our trees are being recently destroyed. When other owners get a chance to return to the property, you will be shocked at how many of our beautiful trees are now gone and others that have been cut in a such a grossly negligent manner that the "Joe Thomas slash and burn" approach will destroy many more of them.

Can't someone put Joe Thomas under control before he destroys everything beautiful at Deer Ridge?

Robert,

On your tree post. This 'big blow' is part of nature and the ground has been so saturated from the rain, ice, snow melt and thaw. Mother natures furry!

You should see the trail systems in the Park. Not just high elevations but low as well. The wind gusts have been exceedingly high and frequent this fall/winter and now into spring. Lot of straight line winds. Many trails will take extensive maintenance to remove fallen trees, debris.

So, like here at Deer Ridge, this is 100% strictly part of nature. As you look at this development on the escarpment and the elevation we are at (approx 1800 ft) we are prime target for a high winds, so far we have been really lucky. Straight line winds are knock outs. Sometimes your end of the complex will really get nailed (A, B, C, D block primarily) due to location.

Sometimes mine will (E) but there is a slight more shelter affect (protectiveness) in E block, but not much to feel! Watched this for four years all the blows that have occurred. I am just thankful i am not in D block, as that seems to always take the majority of the blunt force.

Anyway, moral...clean up the mess, plant a couple more trees (native species) in their place and let nature takes its course, or life cycle once more.
