Deer Ridge Litigation Fund

Do you, as an owner at Deer Ridge Mountain Resort, believe we are ALL entitled to have access and be able to copy the books and records of our Homeowner's Association?

So, do I.

But, apparently, Employee Joe Thomas and President Luther Parker and the Board disagree - and are doing all they can to block access, publication and candid discussion of the Asinine Assessment, special deals and favored treatment - at the expense of all Owners.

What ARE they so afraid of us finding out?

Maybe it has to do with the HUGE $10,000 overcharge for my HOA Fees, special assessments, water and cable TV bill - which, in my personal opinion, is due to fraudulent intent or at least gross negligence by the Deer Ridge Board of Directors and / or General Manager Joe Thomas. Please see the posts for details.

We have no choice but to file a lawsuit against GGRC and RML in order to finally, once and for all, make it clear that OWNERS do have a right to all the information about our property and our investment at Deer Ridge.

If you have thoughts and ideas and suggestions, please post them here on this blog.

Gross Negligence – Or Is It Fraud?

Every Dollar You Pay For Deer Ridge Is The WRONG Amount!

Please read the various posts here on this Deer Ridge Owners Blog - and see my evidence and analysis which I believe shows conclusively that EVERY dollar of HOA Fees, EVERY dollar EVERY special assessment, EVERY water bill and cable TV sent out for YEARS to ALL Deer Ridge Owners has been wrong!

In many cases at least ONE THIRD of ALL owners have been GROSSLY overcharged. My calculations show that I have been overcharged more than TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS in the past 50 months I've owned at Deer Ridge.

The Board has been WRONGLY and arbitrarily ignoring the requirements of the Master Deed and the Bylaws for YEARS.

If my analysis is correct, the Board has zero choice. They MUST abide by the Master Deed Percentages.

But they haven’t.

However, if the Board knowingly ignored the clear directives of the Master Deed and the Bylaws when allocating costs to various unit types, and overcharging certain unit types on a regular basis, my opinion is that the Board and Joe Thomas may have acted fraudulently.

If they have not been fraudulent, then they have been, at the very least, grossly negligent.

Yes, I am serious.

Your Deer Ridge Board of Director led by Luther Parker and Joe Thomas, the General Manager are SO paranoid that they actually had a police officer blocking entrance to this weekend’s Board and Budget Meeting.

No “regular” owners were allowed to attend the meeting – until they were literally frisked and all of their bags searched by the police officer.  (The officer was a great guy – Wayne’s dad as a matter of fact – and he was even apologetic that the Board was requiring this kind of BS.)

As far as I know, there have never been any terrorist attacks associated with any Deer Ridge activities – so this kind of negativism and appalling paranoia by Luther Parker, Joe Thomas and the rest of the Board was uncalled for – and another way they continue to waste the money of all Deer Ridge owners.

It was yet again another attempt by these folks to control access to the truth about what is happening at Deer Ridge Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

So, if you plan on attending any board meetings, beware.  Hey, they may even do it to all owners who attend the next annual owners’ meeting.

    Please understand one thing. As you once told us, they have a key to YOUR property and YOU WERE SCARED TOO. If someone feels more comfortable not telling who they are, i see no problem with it. At least they can VENT comfortably.

    Thanks for the insight. Wish i would have been there, but i really needed to be at work as the h1n1 went thru the place and we were short handed. Besides, at that time i had to give a 2 wk notice and i couldn’t.

    I also knew with Robert, Todd and yourself there it would be well covered. Besides, the only difference i could make from living here is KNOWING them and HOW they think/operate and figuring out what they are up to is a bit easier. Always look for nepotism and know their circle of ‘buddies’ and you can figure them out VERY easily. Take the “mystery woman” of 08 for example, and the UT land deal that was hushed, their plan so UT could NOT find them out! Red Flag. I do not want to pay, or have any other owner pay (ex: operating assessment that turned into an hoa increase) for THEIR shenanigans (UT land deal/mystery woman for cabin rentals)and believe me there were more coming in 08 that would eat our funds UP. I am sure there still are today. We cannot leave this group of individuals UNCHECKED. It WILL DRASTICALLY AFFECT OUR POCKETBOOKS.

    Anyway, I would really have liked to have heard this meeting first hand/or better yet not waste my 10 hours of MY time and MY money to take off work, and it would be GREAT to have digital recordings to hear it for myself at my leisure. I knew from 08 meeting, a lot of sh** does indeed occur, in many forms!

    As far as the sh** “word” coming out of an out of control mouth, fine. I could care less about that. It is about what they are UP TO that bothers me. I swear you could toss them in a bag, shake em up and not know which one will pop out first! Please do not misunderstand me. With myself, this is really not about personals at all. It would be incorrigible to want to fire someone because one doesn’t like someone. This is about CAUSE. This is about WRONG DOING. Gross Negligence or fraud. Unfortunately, when there is a lawsuit there will be some ugly brought into this and that is the price, so be it. It is the outcome that will bring us all back together and we need a honest, truthful resort manager/board. That is the goal!

    There is nothing in this for me either, like Robert i have no intentions of being a board member or have any related ambition. I only want to get to the truth. I also have a real DESIRE to make sure that any resident/owner/non-rml participant or rml participant can do with their condo whatever they like w/o repercussions from this manager/board. Without being intimidated. Without discrimination. Without being harassed. Without being frisked, because they feel they can. Without the board/manager trying to get ‘rid’ of anyone because they FINALLY ARE speaking out or simply asking questions. I simply want to Make a Difference. Period.

    It was never stated what exactly the officer was Frisking Us For and opening Brief cases and bags… I assumed it was for some type of Weapon, We all passed without anything being taken from us, as far as I know…. Recording devices can be taken in, just not used…. God Forbid….Anyone may want to have an accurate and verifiable record of what was said…… :)

    Never will understand it, only explanation is, secrecy…. on a “So called Transparent Board… Question… Was the word Sh** used in the meeting, and by WHO ? Probably not in the Official Minutes, neither will it be mentioned that the person saying it was very out of control emotionally and was standing up in a threatening manner while saying it.. AND IT WAS NOT, ROBERT, TODD OR NEIL…. Go figure, it will be denied, BUT it cannot be refuted…..

    Oh, BTW……. this ‘frisking’ by Joe and the board at the board meeting had absolutely nothing to do with safety concerns, as you may have guessed by now. No terrorist attack at the DR board meeting!

    My opinion: What it DID have to do with was Joey/board using INTIMIDATION to Robert, Neil and Todd to make a group statement that they were in CONTROL and they could flex their POWER.

    As we all know those that do that sort of thing are not powerful, but scared and INSECURE. Insecure enough to not answer legitimate questions and insecure enough to hide behind masks. More silly games from Joey and the board!

    They would rather attempt more intimidation by searching out, following and confronting female owners on Deer Ridge property.

    I have lived here for almost 4 years and i swear at times i think i have seen it all, but then something else occurs with our fearless leader/s!

    I will once more try to answer your goofy question; however, i am not sure what this has to do with the ‘Price of eggs in China!’ You must be really scared, you talk, but have nothing to say and you answer no one’s questions with any degree of common sense or intelligence. You do a good enough job of belittling yourself, you don’t need me or anyone else to assist.

    I detect no threat from you on here at anytime, did you threaten me? A committee member ACTUALLY did last spring though in the parking lot here at Deer Ridge. Did 1 + 5 put that individual up to that or did that member do that on their own? Remember that occurrence? This crazy committee member followed me to my parking spot from his unit when he saw me drive past his condo. He came on fast on my back bumper, pulled his vehicle cross ways and UP ON on the ramp and blocked me in, jumped out of his vehicle, approached me, and then proceeded to THREATEN me. What an idiot. (similar to what happened to Janet) I would suggest that person not try that again. I have a witness, who had a hard time getting into her parking place due to the fact how this committee member embraced the ramp. Ugh, betcha all forgot that one.

    I play no games, i am upfront. You already know that. Just give all of us our money back that you owe us, open the books, and i am sure our humor will become even more tolerant of you and your odd behavior.

    You seem to post some questions for others, and i suspect YOU want answers? Correct? Like all of us wanting answers from YOU ‘all’, the illustrious board, but somehow YOU do not answer any questions! Hmnnnn, quite typical board and 1 committee member behavior. Are you fearful to take off your mask Saywhat? Oh my, some of your co-owners may not recognize your behavior….

    So Hide ~ like no digital recordings for meetings, so you cover up and think you cannot be detected. That is how you operate and have for years Saywhat. I Already know who/m you are. So, I along with others will consider the source!

    Good to hear from you, even though you make absolutely no sense!

    Only one thing if there was a REAL THREAT, in an airport like you mentioned then EVERYONE goes through detection or gets frisked, right? Since you choose to compare the airport scenario (like comparing apples to grapefruits) i have a question for you. What if Joe had a gun? Or Luther? Or anyone else on the illustrious/illegal board? I am sure they would like to be 100% rid of Robert and now many others so they can continue on, continuing on! I suspect everyone should have been frisked, like at your airport.

    I don’t think i would be so silly as to compare the airport to D R board meeting! Your ridiculous and make no sense whatsoever in that comparison, so i am confident that you are easily blindsided by all the BS of Joe/board as well!

    This Thanksgiving myself (and many others) are so THANKFUL to GOD that Robert and Janet reside here. For those of you that do not know them, they are wonderful owners in a quest for the truth and they are protecting OUR investments and our $. For the first time there is someone here that isn’t scared to get to the truth and knows the way to it. Robert’s intelligence, business background expertise PLUS his awareness level are amazing and he can cut through the BS of this regime.

    Saywhat, you obviously have not been informed. The only threat to the board was that some folks wanted to attend the meeting. Two of these folks requested to record the meeting, so that they could post the recording of the meeting for all owners to hear – so that there the recording (nothing tampered with) actually could be posted for all to hear the recording.

    This is not a threat, it is simply a way to keep everyone informed. Human behavior dictates that when folks respond to questions the way this board and manager are responding that fraud is involved. If folks have nothing to hide they simply do not mind that others can view books or hear meetings.

    It was my understanding there was a threat so I have no problem with a cautious approach. Of course, I never complain at the airport when they pull me aside for that additional pat down. Silly me. I should take your example and protest and shout out that I am being treated unfairly. Oh wait, the TSA is only protecting me. Wait, so mayne we should thank the people who took a proactive approach to protect us at that meeting…. just a thought.
